​UPM BioVerno diesel is a more sustainable alternative to fossil diesel fuels. It is compatible with all diesel engines, just like traditional diesel. In addition, the innovative UPM BioVerno diesel is seamlessly compatible with the existing distribution infrastructure.
​Unlike first-generation biofuels, there are no blending limitations with UPM BioVerno diesel. This means that distributors can use a higher percentage of renewable UPM BioVerno diesel to cut more greenhouse gas emissions.

​A proven alternative — UPM BioVerno fleet tests

20 drivers 1000 kilometres on a single tank 80 000 kilometres of road tests 

​Independent tests have been conducted to prove that UPM BioVerno works the same as traditional diesel fuels. The VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland conducted road traffic test drives totalling 80,000 kilometres and found that both fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions were on a par with those of traditional diesel.

​Furthermore, the engines of the Volkswagen Golf fleet used in the tests worked flawlessly while running on UPM BioVerno. UPM BioVerno has also been tested by FEV in Germany, among other bodies.
